How to Measure Your Dog

Follow these simple steps using a soft measuring tape. Always measure while your dog is standing naturally.

  • Neck: Wrap the tape around the base of the neck where a collar would sit. Leave room for two fingers to ensure comfort.

  • Lower Neck: Measure slightly below the collar line, closer to the shoulders. This helps with apparel and harness fit.

  • Chest Girth: Measure the widest part of the chest, just behind the front legs. This is key for apparel sizing.

  • Back Length: Measure from the base of the neck (where it meets the shoulders) to the base of the tail. Keep the tape straight along the spine.

  • Withers Height: Measure from the ground to the top of the shoulder (withers). This helps assess overall garment coverage.

  • Paw Width: Place the paw flat on the ground and measure across the widest part. Useful for booties or paw-specific accessories.

  • Paw Length: Measure from the tip of the longest toe to the back of the paw pad. Helps ensure a snug but comfortable fit.

Tip: Always allow two fingers of space when measuring for comfort.

Choosing the Ideal Feeding Height for Your Pet

  • Measure from the floor to the lower chest of your dog to find the ideal stand height.
  • If your dog falls between two sizes, choose the lower height for the most natural posture.
  • Your dog’s spine should stay straight while eating; this ensures comfort and healthy alignment.
